Easter Greetings

Just a quick reminder to you all about the Easter holiday work, I am sure that you will all be well on the way with it. You have all of those Easter eggs to keep you going!!

Year 12
1.To complete the Film Tracking Exercise for a film that is due to come out very soon.
2.To complete the Mock Exam paper that you have saved as a PDF, remember to demonstrate your excellent film knowledge and weave in the ‘Case Studies.’
3.Look through the PDFs from the Film Distribution Association – paying particular attention to the charts and tables; consider what the figures reveal. It will help if you learn a few quotes and headline figures, this will impress the examiners.
4.Ensure that your Ewan McGregor essay is completed and that you have carefully thought about the question and what you have written.

Year 13

1.Please select two, of the three, Vertigo past questions and prepare detailed essay responses to them.
A)What does Vertigo reveal about the usefulness of one or more of the critical approaches you have applied?
B)Consider debates that have arisen in the critical reception of your film, either at the time of its initial release, after or both.
C)Film Scholars have argued that Vertigo is a film about cinema and spectatorship. How far is this true?
2.Prepare essay plans to the two City of God past questions that you were given (also available from the WJEC website, under the past paper section).
3.Revisit and research the ideas and work of Laura Mulvey, how does it apply and link to Vertigo? (Make sure you are clear about this)
4.Revisit and ensure that you are confident on the social, historical and political background to La Haine and City of God.
