Focus on Sound


Task One:
Make detailed notes in your book about the PPT below. There are a number of key sound terms you will need to know in order to write in both your coursework and your exam work.




Task Two:
Watch the below clip from an episode of Doctor Who Confidential. The focus is on sound and foley artists. Make notes in your book.


Task Three:
Watch the below clip from the opening of the film Face/Off [Woo, 1996]. Respond to the following title: Explore how sound creates meaning for the spectator in the opening sequence of the film. Write in detail and using key sound terminology.

Read and make detailed notes on pages 24-30 of the AS Film Studies textbook. Your focus is on Mise en Scene: Performance and Movement.

In addition, you need to complete the three blue box activities on pages 27 and 28.

Year 11 into Year 12 Bridging Work


Below is the Bridging Work for students hoping to enrol on the AS Film Studies course in September. We have been thrilled with the enthusiasm for the subject shown by students so far and are really looking forward to seeing your presentations and short films.
